The SarahBakes Spring Menu is Now Available!

Happy March, dear friends!

I am delighted to share that our SarahBakes Spring Menu is now available and I am offering a bevy of beautiful treats to help you make the most of your Easter and St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

Get Your Green On!

St. Patrick’s Day is this Wednesday, and I would love to help you celebrate with some delicious Irish-inspired treats! My St. Patrick’s Day collection includes Decorated Sugar Cookies, Italian Butter Sweets with green and gold sprinkles, Bailey’s Peppermint Brownies, Pistachio Bundt Cake and Italian Rainbow Cookies, available individually or as an assortment. Erin go bragh!

Zeppole di San Giuseppe Mania is March 18-19!

Zeppole di San Giuseppe – avail March 18 & 19 only!

The feast of St. Joseph is this Friday, March 19 and we cannot wait to go crazy making Zeppole di San Giuseppe, a wonderful Italian pastry that was named just for this occasion. Unlike a regular Italian zeppola, which is a fried ball of dough, Zeppole di San Giuseppe are impressive, donut-sized pastries filled with a sweet custard cream and traditionally topped with a syrupy Amarena cherry.

These pastries are only available this Thursday, March 18 and Friday, March 19, in packages of 6 or 12 pastries. I am offering 3 filling options: Sweet Custard Cream, Chocolate Mousse and Strawberry Coulis Whipped Cream. These will go fast and once they’re gone they won’t be available until next year, so place your order today!

Cake for everyone!

I am so excited to have cake on the new SarahBakes Spring Menu, and this selection has something for everyone. For my fellow home bakers: If you click on the names of the cakes below, you will find a printable copy of the recipe for each one.

Perfectly light and airy, my Heavenly Angel Food Cake is my very favorite cake to bake (and eat). This cake is so outstanding that I never glaze or frost it – I just serve with freshly made whipped cream and berries.

My Pistachio Pudding Bundt Cake is a new addition to my repertoire and it is even more delicious than it is beautiful. The inclusion of pistachio pudding mix gives the cake a wonderfully moist and tender crumb, and a lovely touch of spring color. Pistachios both inside and atop the cake add a gentle crunch and nuttiness to the cake, and the snowy white vanilla glaze ensures that no pistachios are left behind. This cake is available plain or with the icing and pistachio toppings.

I am expanding my menu this spring with a variety of Italian confections, and I would be remiss if our Classic Tiramisu was not among the first featured specialties. Our tiramisu is similar to a trifle, with layers of espresso-soaked lady fingers and sweetened mascarpone cheese that combine to create a light, lush and creamy tiramisu. The recipe is my husband’s and although I am certainly biased, this is the best tiramisu I’ve ever had, anywhere.

When Not in Rome, Bake!

Being married to one Italian and mother to another, Italian cuisine is a big influence in my culinary experience. Two summers ago we spent two weeks visiting Tony’s family in Sicily, and I was just charmed by all the beautiful cookies and pastries that seemed to be everywhere. Italians are known for their love of sweets, and I am delighted to have several new classic Italian cookies on my SarahBakes Spring Menu, including Italian Rainbow Cookies, Raspberry Fingers and Jammy Delights. Each cookie is available by the dozen or in our new Italian Cookie Assortment. Until we can return to Italy, baking (and eating) Italian specialties is my next best thing!

Introducing Savory Cocktail Nibbles

Savory cocktail nibbles are another new addition to our SarahBakes Spring Menu, and they are so charming and delicious that I might just be a wee bit obsessed with them. We have three savory nibbles to choose from, including my Double Cheese Canape Wafers, Creole Cheddar Cocktail Cookies and Bacon, Blue Cheese and Chive mini scones. Eventually, this pandemic *will* end, and these savory nibbles are perfect for cocktail parties and soirees!

Easter will soon be Hop-on us…
