Autumn has just sped by in a flurry of busy-senior activities. It is hard to believe that this is our son’s last year of high school, and yet, here we are. I have done just a little baking in the past 6 months so I am really looking forward to this year’s holiday baking season!

My Thanksgiving Menu is posted below and open for order requests. In addition to my Signature Buttercream Sugar Cookies, Triple Nut Spicy Chex Mix, frozen quiches and scones, I am excited to offer two new specialties this season: a moist and tender traditional Scandinavian Almond Cake, which is also featured in my new SarahBakes Breakfast Box, alongside my Cranberry-Orange Streusel Muffins and Pumpkin-Chocolate Chip Bread.

Please keep in mind that your order is not confirmed until you receive a confirmation email from Sarah (usually within 24 hours of submitting your request. I have limited quantities for each item as I am striving to keep my schedule open for quality mom/son time, and kindly ask you to submit your order request by noon on Monday, November 21. Pick-up days are Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 9-10 AM or 5-6 PM, and Wednesday, Nov. 23 from 9AM-12 PM.

A new menu isn’t the only reason I have to celebrate – this week marks my 10th year as the food columnist for The Forum, and I am celebrating this occasion with a Weekly Giveaway from now until Christmas! Each week one lucky winner will be randomly selected to win a prize from items that represent some of my very favorite things.

In honor of the newest addition to my Norwegian baking repertoire, this week’s lucky winner will receive a Scandinavian Almond Cake pan! The winner must be able to pick their prize up in person in Fargo, North Dakota (sorry, shipping is not an option). Only one entry is needed to enter- each name will remain in the pool of entrants for the weekly drawings, unless they become a winner.

Thank you for a great first week at SarahBakes!

The first week of SarahBakes has been a whirlwind of fun, flour, chocolate and buttercream! In honor of our grand opening, every order this week received a surprise bag of cookies, and this gift has been so well received that we’re continuing the promotion throughout the month of October!

For every order received from now until October 31, Sarah will include a half-dozen cookies with our compliments. For the week of October 11 – 17, our special treat cookie will be one of Sarah’s family’s favorites: Italian Butter Cookies (featured in photo above).
